Andreas Antoniadis, known as Keravnos, whose life as an EOKA fighter turned British informant inspired a character in the Netflix series Legends, died on 21 August.

Andreas Antoniadis, the former EOKA fighter from Foini who became a British informant and whose story inspired the character of Mylonas in Netflix's Legends, has died. He was reported to be in his 90s.

Politis first traced his story in depth in June, following the premiere of Legends, piecing together his path from a young EOKA fighter in the Troodos mountains to an alleged informant for the British colonial authorities, and later, according to multiple accounts, one of the most closely protected assets run by HM Customs and Excise inside Britain's heroin trafficking networks.

His death closes a chapter that, even in his final years, remained largely hidden. A source close to Antoniadis had told Politis in June that he was still alive abroad, having spent his later years mostly out of public view, reportedly angry, according to past reporting, at how he had been treated by the British state after decades of service. In his home village of Foini, his name remained taboo, and his family had long since left.
