The DISY MP says the organisation’s response confirms the patient was taken to A&E twice but was never admitted.

DISY Nicosia MP George Pamboridis has criticised the State Health Services Organisation’s response over the case of a patient whose treatment he raised publicly a day earlier. He said the statement confirmed that she was taken to Nicosia General Hospital’s Accident and Emergency Department twice but was never admitted.

Pamboridis challenges OKYPY’s response

In a post on X, Pamboridis argued that the organisation’s statement ultimately confirmed the central point of his complaint.

“You drafted a lengthy ‘response’ only to tell us that the patient was indeed never admitted to Nicosia General Hospital, although she was taken to your A&E department twice,” he wrote.

Warning over communications handling

The DISY MP also urged officials to focus on their responsibilities, saying that questions surrounding the handling of the matter would be raised in the appropriate forum.

“I suggest that you devote your time to the duties entrusted to you by the state. As for the other ‘communications’ matters, leave those for us to discuss where appropriate, very soon,” he wrote.

His remarks are the latest development in the public dispute over the handling of the patient’s case by the public health system.
