Leaders’ Meeting Underway In UN Buffer Zone In Nicosia

President Nikos Christodoulides and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman began talks shortly after 11:00 in the presence of the United Nations Special Representative and Head of UNFICYP, Khassim Diagne, with discussions taking place at his residence inside the UN-protected area.

The meeting between the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, and the Turkish Cypriot leader, Tufan Erhürman, began shortly after 11:00 local time.

The talks are being held in the presence of the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP), Khassim Diagne.

Venue and arrival of the leaders

The meeting is taking place at the residence of Khassim Diagne, located within the United Nations protected area in Nicosia.

Tufan Erhürman arrived first, a few minutes after 11:00, followed two minutes later by President Christodoulides.
