A five-month-old infant was found dead at the family home in Limassol on Tuesday evening in a tragic incident now under police investigation.
According to police, the baby had been put down to sleep when, at around 8pm, the mother noticed that the infant was unresponsive.
The child was subsequently taken to a private clinic, where doctors confirmed the baby's death.
Police said that examinations conducted so far have found no external injuries on the infant's body.
The exact cause of death is expected to be determined following a post-mortem examination, which will be scheduled at a later stage.
Police are continuing their investigations to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
