Iran has denied launching missiles at the United Arab Emirates, responding to allegations from Abu Dhabi that two ballistic missiles targeted Emirati vessels in the Gulf on Tuesday.
Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, said Tehran "categorically rejects the claim by the United Arab Emirates that Iran launched a missile against that country".
He described the accusation as damaging to trust in the region and to efforts aimed at restoring regional security.
The comments came after the UAE accused Iran of targeting its ships in the Gulf with two ballistic missiles.
Iranian officials have denied any involvement and dismissed the allegation as unfounded.
"We categorically reject the claim by the United Arab Emirates that Iran launched a missile against that country," Baghaei said.
He added that such accusations undermine confidence-building efforts and regional attempts to improve security.
