Police say the investigation has been completed and all persons named in the case were called to give statements.

The police investigation into former EDEK president Marinos Sizopoulos has been completed, with the case file expected to be forwarded to the Legal Service in the coming days.

Police spokesman Vyron Vyronos told CNA that the investigative work had now been concluded and that the file would first be reviewed by the Police Legal Department before being sent on for further examination and instructions.

Asked whether the police report includes specific recommendations on possible criminal offences, Vyronos declined to comment in detail, saying only that the case file will be assessed by the Legal Service.

On the number of statements taken during the investigation, the police spokesman said all persons named in the case had been called to give statements.

He was also asked whether examinations or expert assessments had been carried out in relation to the alleged forgery of a signature. Vyronos said he could not comment on that specific issue, adding that he believed all necessary steps had been taken as part of the investigation.

The case has been under police investigation since 2025 and concerns findings included in a report by inspectors of the Independent Authority Against Corruption, which was made public in September of that year.

The report referred, among other matters, to indications of possible criminal offences linked to a share sale agreement involving TAXAN Properties. It also made reference to an allegation concerning the forgery of a signature on a related document.
