Public-sector organisations have outlined a series of questions and comments on the proposed pension reforms, focusing on pension calculations, early-retirement reductions and the sustainability of the Social Insurance Fund.
Their positions will be raised during the forthcoming consultations on the bill.
Bill reviewed at PASYDY meeting
The Social Insurance amendment bill, submitted by the Ministry of Labour at the latest meeting of the Labour Advisory Body, was reviewed on Wednesday by the Coordinating Body of Public-Sector Organisations and Associations at PASYDY’s offices.
According to a PASYDY statement, members were briefed on the discussions held so far and exchanged views on the proposed legislation.
A series of questions, requests for clarification and comments were recorded and will be presented during the upcoming consultations.
Early retirement and pension calculations
The discussion focused primarily on the calculation rates for basic and supplementary pensions, the actuarial reduction applied to early retirement and the sustainability of the Social Insurance Fund.
Participants also examined measures to provide meaningful support to low-income pensioners and the payment of contributions by people who continue working after the age of 65.
The meeting also addressed workers who are legally required to retire before the age of 63, including police officers, firefighters, military personnel and primary school teachers.
Public-sector organisations represented
Representatives of PASYDY, POED, OELMEK and OLTEK attended the meeting, alongside associations representing senior police officers, police personnel, firefighters, army officers and army non-commissioned officers.
