The Cabinet has approved a special admissions procedure for graduates of Rizokarpaso Gymnasium seeking to study at the Cyprus Forestry College.
The measure, approved at Tuesday’s meeting, amends the 2026 Forestry Apprentices Regulations and allows eligible graduates to apply without sitting written entrance examinations.
Selection criteria
Candidates will be assessed based on their school-leaving certificate grade. The selected applicant must still pass the required athletic tests and meet the same health requirements as all other students admitted to the college.
One additional place each year
The scheme creates one additional place per academic year. This will be added to the places offered through the general admissions process, meaning opportunities for other candidates will not be reduced or affected.
The government described the decision as another practical measure supporting enclaved students and their families. It said the aim was to provide children in Rizokarpaso with more opportunities for education, training and professional development.
