Cypriot sailor Pavlos Kontides had one outstanding race and one to forget on the second day of the World Championship in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland.
Kontides won the first race of the day, and the fourth overall for the blue fleet, before finishing 16th in the next, his worst result of the championship so far. On Tuesday he had won one race and finished 11th and 13th in the other two.
With all five qualifying races now complete, Kontides sits 13th in the overall standings on 26 penalty points.
The final series begins on Thursday, with the Limassol Nautical Club sailor competing in the Gold Fleet. A further six races will take place through Saturday, with the results determining the top 10 who will contest the two medal races on Sunday.
