The death toll from the twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela on 24 June has risen to at least 2,645, according to figures released by the government late on Friday.
The Information Ministry said 12,666 people had been injured and around 15,000 left homeless. Acting President Delcy Rodríguez had placed the death toll at 2,595 a day earlier.
Authorities have yet to publish an official count of those missing. An unofficial online list used by families searching for relatives contained about 38,500 names on Thursday, after reaching nearly 60,000 in the days immediately following the earthquakes.
